More large delegations in AsiaThe IPv4 Depletion site
APNIC continues to delegate large IPv4 networks to organizations in
Asia. This makes the global allocation rate skyrocket. Globally,
the RIRs delegated almost half a /8 this week so far (Wednesday),
this is an extraordinary pace considering the usual pace of
slightly over one /8 per month. Here are some of the most
significant delegations made [...]

nk497 writes "While it's definitely time to start thinking about
IPv6, it's not time for most to move up to it, argues Steve
Cassidy, saying most can turn it off in Windows 7 without causing

Trouble looms for company websites
How would you like it if customers had to log in at your
e-commerce site over and over during the same session? Or if you
couldnt tell where site visitors were from? What would you think if
you sounded as if you had a speech impediment during a
streaming-video press conference?
Those are just a few examples, among many, of the troubles that
could befall companies for a period of days, weeks, or even months
sometime during 2011 if they dont act soon to reconfigure their
public-facing Web servers.
The source of the problem is the impending exhaustion of the
unique numbers (or addresses) within the long-established Internet
protocol that Internet service providers (ISPs) assign for every
Website and most connected devices.
